How do I shorten a URL?
Paste your URL on the homepage and click "Shorten". No signup required. Your short link will be generated instantly.
Do I need an account?
No — you can shorten links without an account. But signing up gives you a dashboard, analytics, custom slugs, and more.
How short are the links?
Free links are 6 characters (e.g., L.nu/abc123). Pro users can get 3-character slugs, and Business users can get 2-character slugs.
Can I choose my own slug?
Yes! When creating a link, enter a custom slug. Available slug lengths depend on your plan. Single-character slugs are premium and reserved.
Do links expire?
By default, links don't expire. You can optionally set an expiration date or a maximum number of clicks when creating a link.
What analytics do I get?
You can see total clicks, clicks over time, geographic data (country/city), device type, browser, operating system, and referrer sources.
How long is analytics data kept?
Free plan: 30 days. Pro: 1 year. Business: 2 years.
Is there an API?
Yes! Full REST API for creating, listing, updating, and deleting links, plus fetching analytics. See our API docs for details.
How do QR codes work?
Every link automatically gets a QR code. Access it at L.nu/api/qr/your-slug. Available in PNG and SVG formats.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on Pro (1 domain) and Business (10 domains) plans. Set it up in your dashboard settings.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to Settings in your dashboard and click "Upgrade". Payments are handled securely through Stripe.
What happens if I downgrade?
Your existing links continue to work. You'll lose access to premium features like extended analytics and custom domains until you re-upgrade.
